| Browsing the Internet This is a 2 session workshop in lieu of our normal 5 week Internet course to help you improve your web surfing skills using Internet Explorer. We will review the basics of hyperlinks, addresses and search engines, practice, and explore the power of Google. |
| Email Using both Outlook Express and Web mail, you will practice receiving and sending different kinds of email with imbedded links, attached photos, and attached documents. |
| Word Drawing Tools You will learn how to use the AutoShapes and rotate or flip them. You will learn how to include text with your drawings and use color. You will also learn how to use text boxes. |
| Organizing with Folders This is a 2 day workshop with exercises to help you gain proficiency in organizing your documents—making new folders and moving your documents, files and subfolders from one folder to another. |
| Introduction to PowerPoint Have you always wondered, “What is Power Point?” Now is your chance to find out and learn to make a simple presentation. |
| Introduction to eBay An overview of the big auction site. Will discuss and demo content, browsing, buying, and listing for sale. |
| Windows Vista Introduction The primary features of Vista will be discussed, with highlights of the differences from Windows XP. |
| Tables & Labels In this two day workshop, you will learn how to build an address book in Word then use that to merge and print labels. |
| Windows XP Answers Your opportunity to ask those nagging questions about your computer. We will present an overview of security software, how to use CD’s and some common tools and techniques for Windows problem solving. Vista users are also welcome. |
| Genealogy Get acquainted with research techniques using the Internet and some popular programs such as Family Tree Maker. For those just beginning and those wanting to improve their skills. |
| Digital Photos with Picasa 2 A workshop that uses a free application from Google to show you how to easily acquire, edit, organize, share, and print photos. It has basic but highly effective automatic editing capabilities and some creativity options. A great way to increase enjoyment of all your digital images. |
| Digital Camera Basics Do you have a new camera or thinking about buying one? Attend this seminar to see how they work, their main features, some tips on using, and how to load the pictures into a computer. |
| Scrapbooking with PrintMaster This will be a fun workshop to help you create scrapbook pages with PrintMaster on your computer. Use maps for a background of your travel memories. Add eye catching graphics to your pictures. Include titles and narratives. Capture other memorabilia using the scanner. |
| Health Information on the Internet With the wealth and diversity of health sites on the Internet, you need to know what is reliable and accurate. Visit useful web sites and discuss how to evaluate them for currency and reliability. |
BEYOND THE WILL AND LAST TESTAMENT You have made a Will and completed Health Care directives. Is this enough? Are you sure that in the event a family member is incapacitated or passes away everything “is in order”? This seminar will seek to answer some of the following questions: Who should be notified? What other information should be readily available to the family or a close friend? How and where should this information be kept? What about security? How often should this information be updated? |
| Photo Story 3 If you want to go beyond a simple slideshow, bring your photos to life with Photo Story 3. This program lets you easily make a video from digital images with panning and zooming, background music, narration, text captions, and special effects. Share with friends and family on DVD players or computers. This workshop will lead you through installation of this free program and creation of a story of your own. |

Demo Daze Learn to send email to “blind” distribution lists and to forward email without all the extra “fwd:” ,”fwd:”, “fwd:”. Learn basic computer organization skills. Learn how to handle some common problems. See an overview of SeniorNet classes. Ask those nagging questions. |

Housekeeping and Security This is a must-attend if you don’t run regular maintenance and protection procedures on your Windows computer! See how to keep your machine in top working order, keeping out intrusive software and minimizing the accretion of errors in normal operation. |

Writing to CDs Start using your CD-RW drive (CD burner)! Find out how to mix your own music albums, store your important documents, backup hard drive files, send digital photos of big events to family or friends, and copy other CDs. Will use Nero CD/DVD burning software. |

Internet Bargain Shopping Learn how to find bargains and discounts on the Internet. Includes buying on eBay. Students should have a general working knowledge of how to use the Internet and have access at home. |
PLEASE NOTE: A different selection of seminars is offered each term. Additional seminars are added as the need is identified. Tuition is $10. Non-members are welcome.
